EXISTING SERVICE

In order to establish a membership account in a location with a meter or meterbase (a location that either currently has service or has recently had service) -- please contact our office.

You will need to complete and submit a membership application for each meter you wish to put in your name. It will be helpful to our Member Service Representatives if you have the name of the person who most recently had service at the location of your account request, a location number (which can generally be found on a metal tag located on the meter pole) OR a meter number.

A service activation fee of $25.00 will be charged for service activation at each location during normal working hours.

New Service

In order to establish a membership account in a location that does not currently have electric service (a location without a meter or meter pole) - please contact our Member Services Department in order to schedule an appointment with a staking representative to establish your new service location.

You will need to complete and return a membership application to our Member Services Department.

There may be a deposit and/or aid-to-construction fees required before your new service can be established. The staking representative will inform you of all fees required and answer any questions you may have regarding your new service.

Water Service

If you will be receiving water through the Macon County Public Water Supply District #1, you will need to fill out a water application to establish a water account. Macon Electric Cooperative provides the billing service for Macon County PWSD #1. You will receive your electric and water bills together and they can be paid together.

MEC can answer billing questions related to both your electric and water accounts. However, if you have questions regarding maintenance or service on your water account, please contact the Macon County PWSD #1 directly.
